Jed Gates serves as a Partner at Berkshire. In his position, Jed serves as a Managing Director within the Capital Markets group. Jed is one of two senior Partners leading the firm’s global fundraising efforts, with primary responsibility for investor relationships and capital raising across the Western United States, Canada, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.

Since joining Berkshire in 2015, Jed has played a critical role in expanding the firm’s global investor base and scaling gross assets under management from ~$8 billion to over $35 billion in 2026 across a diverse institutional investor landscape, including sovereign wealth funds, pensions, superannuations, insurance companies, asset managers, endowments & foundations, and family offices. Prior to joining Berkshire, Jed served as a Market Principal for the Western United States at Greystar Real Estate Partners. Since getting into the CRE industry in 2000, Jed also held capital raising roles at both Deutsche Bank and Buchanan Street Partners. 

Jed received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia. He also served as Chair of the UGA San Francisco Bay Area Alumni Association from 2002-2010. He is also an active member within the Urban Land Institute (ULI) serving as a Founding Member and former Co-Chair of ULI San Francisco’s Young Leaders Group, a former Co-Chair of the ULI Americas Young Leaders Group, and a Co-Founder and former Co-Chair of both ULI’s NEXT Global initiative and ULI’s NEXT Americas cohort. He remains an active member of ULI’s Multifamily Blue Product Council.
